Persons from the congregation voluntarily serve
on various committees with at least one Council representative being
assigned as liaison to each. The committees have an average of ten
members and normally meet once a month. The Committee year extends
from Feb. 1 to Jan. 31.
Building
and Grounds: The purpose of this committee is to maintain
an attractive and affordable facility while providing adequate
room for growth and encouragement
for worship, fellowship and education. Areas of responsibility include church
building and grounds, parsonage, cleaning supplies, equipment, church signs,
etc.

The
Fellowship Committee’s aim is to promote activities
which enhance fellowship and provide opportunities for increasing
one’s knowledge about God and
the world. Areas of responsibility include Sunday School, Bible Studies, Library,
retreats/conferences, refreshment supplies, Easter breakfast, church directory/photo
bulletin board, etc.

The Worship Committee is to assist and be a resource with the worship
services and outreach programs. Areas of responsibility include
music, special worship
services, church bulletin, nursery, Vacation Bible School, Cadets/Gems, community
mailings, etc.

Long Range Planning: The responsibilities of this committee are to look for
the future needs (immediate long range) of our church. This could include but
is
not limited to: Structural, worship, fellowship and evangelism.

Youth Director Board: The
responsibility of this committee is to provide overall direction
for the youth program. This is done by advising in decisions regarding
staffing, policy and the Youth Ministry Guidelines and by being an advocate
for the youth ministry program. Membership is appointed by council.

Worship Leadership Team: This
group meets to coordinate the Sermons, worship themes, and other
things with the two services. The
present plan is that
both services will include each week one of the following: Skit, Puppets,
a Faith
Story, or a Children’s Presentation. Both services will also have blended
music (includes both contemporary and traditional hymns), with the second
service having a more contemporary emphasis.

Council

Council is the governing group in the church, made up of elders and
deacons. They work together as the Council to make decisions about
the church, and approve or overview decisions of the committees through
the minutes. The deacons are primarily responsible for the finances
of the church, keeping track of all donations, counting the money,
and dealing with benevolent needs in the church and community. The
elders are primarily responsible for the pastoral concerns and deal
with the more sensitive issues that come up in the life of the church.
The Council meets regularly once a month.
